Our Early Help Offer

We are here to help you!

At Old Park Primary School and Nursery we recognise the challenges that families face in day-to-day life, often completely outside of the adults control. There may be times when you need extra help and support. If this is the case, please come and talk to us. There are many ways in which we can help as outlined in this offer of early help.

This could be anything from a quick chat on the classroom door to an Early Help Assessment and referrals to other services for support. Early Help support is about school helping you find access the right support at the right time. We will work with you for as much support as you feel you need. Early Help support is optional and is not statuary like our Safeguarding procedures.

Effective Early Help may be delivered at any point in your child’s life about any issue which is impacting or could affect their development and well-being, including education and health.

The purpose of an Early Help offer means we can support your family at the earliest opportunity to promote the welfare for all and to prevent problems from developing.

No problem is too big or too small.

All our staff are part of offering Early Help to our families but within school we have staff with experience and expertise in different areas which may be more suitable supporting your family if you feel this would help.

All Early Help support starts with a conversation, so if you feel you need support and are not sure where to turn, please speak up.

The diagram below shows the range of needs at different levels. We use this graduated approach to make sure we provide the best support for different families’ individual situations.
